The name Satyavadi Raja Harishchandra is a legendary Indian king in old era this king's famous story is mentioned in Markandeya Purana according to this Raja Harishchandra gave away his kingdom, sold his family and becomes servant even if he never lied in his life. 

For this scheme, the poor can get some help in his sudden disaster the amount is not very high but when a little too much better than nothing Satyavadi Raja Harishchandra Sahay Yojana give some financial support.

The government of India launched a lot of scheme every year for every sector, male, women, labor, child, business, agriculture, disaster, health, food, this is the scheme for beneficiaries can get financial help from the government in the event of grief. 

In order to avail the benefits of the government scheme, many laws and regulations have to be complied with and many certificates have to be submitted. In order to avail of the benefits of this scheme, the following documents and conditions have to be complied with.

In a country like India where there is only one earner and five-member depends on him in house and disaster strikes the house when the head of the house dies unexpectedly, the government has come up with this scheme to support the house in such a difficult time so that they have a funeral. The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance.

Eligibility criteria for Satyavadi Raja Harishchandra Sahay Yojana:-

  • The beneficiary applicant will have to submit a death certificate issued by the Talati cum Mantri of his rural area or in urban areas, chief Officer of the Municipality is required.
  • The application must be submitted within six months of the death of the family member.

Income limit:- 

To avail the benefits of this scheme, separate income has been fixed for urban and rural areas as follows
  • For rural areas Rs. 1,20,000/- yearly
  • For urban areas Rs. 1,50,000/- yearly

Required documents:-

  1. Proof of residence ( electricity bill or Rental agreement or election card or Ration card or  one of these)
  2. Death certificate
  3. Bank passbook copy or cancel cheque
  4. Applicant Adhar Card
  5. Certificate of income
  6. Cast certificate
Raja harishchandra Sahay Yojana
Benefits :- 

Rs.5,000/- on the occasion of death to perform the final action.
This amount is not very big but it is better to do a little without doing anything.

Limitations of Raja Harishchandra Sahay Yojana:-

  • The deceased as well as the applicant should be of Schedule Cast (SC) only eligible for this Yojana.
  • Only one person in the household of the deceased will be able to avail these benefits at that time in this scheme.
  • The annual income limits of the applicant should not be more than Rs. 1,20,000/- for rural areas and not more than 1,50,000/-  for urban areas.
  • Registration of the deceased will must be done.
  • The benefit of this scheme will be available only if applicant applies within six months of death of household.
